John Cyr is a founding partner of the Law Offices of Johnson & Cyr and a lifelong resident of Washington State. John attended law school at Seattle University School of Law where he focused his curriculum on criminal procedure, criminal defense and constitutional search and seizure. As a law student, John worked at the Washington Defender Association, providing trial support for the King County public defense offices. John is a member in good standing of the Washington State Bar Association, the Federal bar of the Western District of Washington, United States District Court and the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
John started his legal career in private practice where he aggressively and successfully litigated cases involving workers’ compensation, employment discrimination, property disputes and real estate litigation. John took a natural affinity for advocating for the rights of the underprivileged and wrongfully accused and quickly expanded his practice to include personal injury and criminal defense. John has successfully negotiated highly favorable settlements for many of his clients by working with his clients to identify successful and effective trial strategies. John has received not guilty verdicts and acquittals on serious felony charges in courts throughout the State of Washington and in the United States Army Trial Judiciary. John has successfully defended cases of all types including allegations of assault with a deadly weapon, assault by strangulation, drive-by shooting, unlawful display of firearms, felony harassment, rape of a child and felony violations of a no-contact order, to name a few.
John strongly believes that the best way to get favorable results for clients is by working together as a team, and central to that belief is an understanding of trust between the client and the attorney. The legal system is often unfair, allegations are often presumed to be true by law enforcement and prosecutors without any effort being made to investigate alternative possibilities. John will listen to your side of the story and exhaustively investigate the allegations on your behalf in order to put you in the best position possible.
Myles J. Johnson, ESQ
Myles Johnson is an Award-winning, Nationally recognized Litigator in the states of Louisiana and Washington.
Born in New Orleans during his father’s final semester at Tulane University Law School, many would say that Mr. Johnson’s affinity for the law has been a part of him since birth.
Mr. Johnson attended Xavier University of Louisiana on scholarship where he received a B.S in Business Finance. After some deliberation, he decided to put law school on hold and enter the workforce. In 1999, Mr. Johnson joined a Fortune 500 Corporation as a Sales Executive, and within a year, his company was bought out by a much larger entity. He immediately decided to cash in on his previous acceptances to law school, and voluntarily resigned to save a co-worker’s position.
Mr. Johnson followed in his father’s footsteps and entered Tulane University Law School.
Initially, Mr. Johnson believed that he wanted to become what he affectionately refers to as a “tall building lawyer” in New York City. After his first year of law school, Mr. Johnson clerked at a major northeast law firm. Although lucrative and challenging, Mr. Johnson was alarmed by his lack of client contact and his feeling of having no real personal impact on the lives of his clients. The following Summer, instead of accepting another clerkship in the northeast, he decided to clerk for a large and very well respected personal injury firm in Louisiana. Mr. Johnson was immediately hooked, and tailored his ambitions accordingly.
In 2012, just seven years after completing his Juris doctorate at Tulane, Myles Johnson was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Association as a “Top 40 under 40” litigator in the State of Louisiana.
What brings Mr. Johnson to Washington? His law school sweetheart and now wife is a native Washingtonian. The couple have two beautiful little girls and both pursue their respective legal careers in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area.
Mr. Johnson has quickly developed a reputation throughout the State of Washington as having exceptional relationships with clients and a dynamic presence in the courtroom.
In 2017, having practiced in Washington four years, Myles Johnson was named “Top 10 Litigators under 40” in the State of Washington.
